PlaySections is an audio/video player that enables users to set customized markers and playback specific sections of their audio/video files at their convenience. For instance, while listening to music, users can mark transitions from verse to chorus, effectively dividing the track into distinct sections which they can later revisit with ease.

Each section title allows for multiple lines of descriptive text. This feature allows users to add notes regarding chord progressions, measure counts, lyrics, and more, offering a versatile tool that caters to various needs.

With support for section and song looping, PlaySections facilitates continuous replay of preferred song segments. Its diverse functionality includes tempo adjustment, playback speed control, pitch shifting, vocal cancellation, a 7-band equalizer, and video flipping — making it an ideal companion for instrument practice, vocal training, dance rehearsals, or playing music by ear.

Noteworthy is its ability to import files from the iOS Music Library and other apps through the Share Extension/Open-in feature. For instance, users can import recordings from the Voice Memo app on iPhones to create and replay section lists for their original compositions. Beyond music-related activities, PlaySections can be utilized for language learning exercises or preparing meeting notes. Version 4.0.0 has introduced support for YouTube videos as well.
